A Hint of Danger [Explore]
This image was captured from the Crescent City Breakwater at dusk. Although technically blue hour, the cloud cover from a significant winter storm catches what remains of the sun's light, below the horizon, and makes for a fiery exit to the day.
The waves, having dissipated from several days of life-threatening conditions, continue to crash into Battery Point reminding all present of the ominous power of the Pacific. Crescent City is no stranger to the destruction the ocean can bring, having a unique geography that makes it the North American magnet for Tsunami waves.
On this day, thankfully, the storms subside, the ocean returns to its quieter nature, and this photographer and his family are thankful.
