Everybody Look What's Going Down [Explore]

Spring in Wyoming reveals lush green grass for the bison to graze on.

The bison of Yellowstone are the last free-ranging bison of a once staggering population of tens of millions of these large animals. Today, the total bison in Yellowstone numbers around 5500.

On this overcast day, punctuated by periodic showers, it was a nice respite for me to find this small gathering of about twenty total bison grazing in a field along the Yellowstone River, just south of the Yellowstone Falls area. As is the norm during the summer months, cars were parked all along the Grand Loop Road as people tried to get an up close view of these magnificent creatures.

Congrats on Explore!
