The trash can and the mailbox
The mailbox rests 3 to 4 feet above the street level, so the mail carrier can drop mail off from the vehicle. The trash can rests atop the snow pile, which is about the same height from here back to my car (adjusted for the hill) because there's no other place to set it out of the roadway. It's pretty ridiculous out there after the two blizzards. And it might snow significantly more before any meaningful amount melts, too (nothing in the near-future indicates either; the next four days' highs are predicted 7, 7, 12, and 12 degrees with 1-2 inches of snow predicted Saturday).
