SMC 25 - Mother's Day Fare

There was nothing novel about the food I cooked this morning. It's all been done before, the blueberry-chocolate chip pancakes topped with bananas, strawberries, and whipped cream, the scrambled eggs, or the breakfast potatoes. Or even that they were all served together. The thing that was different this week was that I left my familiar kitchen to prepare a meal for my mother. And she was delighted. "I haven't had potatoes like this in years," she said. And then, a couple hours later, we dug into the homemade strawberry shortcake (not pictured).
