Day 107 (473) - Shunning my laptop
It's not one I'd have picked out myself, it's too large and heavy, the screen isn't very good, the battery doesn't last long enough, and it has an odd power cable. But that's not why I'm shunning it.
It's associated with work. My other computer is its own thing, it stands on its own. Sure, it hosts my web site and sets up remote access to the home network, but it stands alone. When I'm using it, I'm doing my own thing. The laptop is my portal to work.
I work and I sleep. And sometimes I don't sleep. Long hours, short deadlines, large workloads, short staffs, short fuses. That laptop is the thing in the house that most reminds me of work. So it's the object of my frustrations at home.
