Albert's Garden Mural

A view of the bird mural at Albert's Garden. Albert’s Garden is located at 16-18 E. 2nd Street between Bowery and 2nd Avenue, in the East Village of New York City. The bird mural at Albert’s gate is by Belgian street artist, ROA, who is recognized for his use of wildlife imagery that is usually inspired by the local environment.

Shot with the Olympus E-M1, Mark II.

Albert's Garden is a member of the Manhattan Land Trust, a non-profit organization protecting land for public use. The garden was permanently protected in 1999 by The Trust for Public Land.

Albert's Garden is maintained by community volunteers, a program of the N.Y.C. Parks & Recreation.

The garden is open to the public at various times during the week. Unfortunately, when I walked by it was closed. I hope to return during another season. This is a remarkable oasis in the midst of New York City.
