Camera and Flash Setup for the Previous Cranefly Photos
Canon 6D with Canon 65mm 1-5x macro lens. Since this lens can't be focused, the camera-lens assembly was mounted on a Novoflex Castel-Q focusing rail. Subject platform: an inverted Calphalon stock pot.
Strobist info: Profoto B1 500 AirTTL off-camera flash in a Profoto 2'x2' Softbox RFI; triggered by a Profoto Air Remote TTL-C. Not shown here: a piece of white foamcore at camera right to reflect flash-light back onto the subject and further smooth the illumination. The living subject was also on a piece of white foamcore, under the lid of a petri dish.
