Alma Queen

The “Alma Queen” is considered to be the greatest mineral specimen in North America (I read). It was found in 1965 by John Soules and Warren Good at the Sweet Home Mine, in the Alma district of Park County, Colarado. Rhodochrosite is a rose-red mineral consisting essentially of manganese carbonate. Seen at the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
