Pelican Release 1

One of 22 pelicans released on the Gulf Coast yesterday. This bird was part of a massive rescue effort of over 100 pelicans. Many were impaled by fishing hooks and lures and had fishing lines with weights tightly wrapped around their bodies, beaks, and legs. Many had ingested hooks, line and sinkers and required surgery.
