Well, at least it's not those stupid pea stones. Some idiotic former tenant used pea-gravel to make a walkway and it ended up EVERYWHERE. Moron. Ten years later, the trauma -- and the loathing -- remain. That's just how much the pea-gravel made everything hellacious, as it made its way into every corner of the garden.
Ahem. Anyway, large stones embedded in quasi-dry bed path, with gravel for mulch. Hmmmm. Not sure I'm convinced, though in terms of run-off, gravel certainly isn't a bad choice for permeability.
