GUNNER G.E. WOOLLEY
Mrs Albert JOHNSON, who has both a husband and son on active service, this morning received a cable from the Base Records Office intimating that her boy had been wounded in the right knee. The message was from Walton-on-Thames Hospital, and added that he was wounded on the 4th of October, and transferred to duty again on the 9th. Gunner George Edward WOOLLEY, who is a son of Mrs JOHNSON by a previous marriage left with the Fourth Reinforcements when 17 years of age, and at 20 years has now been wounded three times. He has seen service in Egypt, Gallipoli, and France.[3]
Served at Gallipoli after falsifying age at enlistment[1]. Only 17 years.
