FLICKR:A Plagiarist Cesspool Playground?
2.2 Millions views on Flickr? I originally started posting photos as a way to express myself when I wasnt drawing, sewing,or DIY creating any other way. There was and is no price tag for my sanity, and creating keeps me sane. Ive always had a problem with giving my creativity away in the hopes that it would inspire people as a means of self expression, & to find their own creative style, instead people take the lazy route: copy&paste.
It was therapeutic for me, Ive ranted on this subject many times, so when I found Flickr, I thought I found a niche site with other introvert creatives who simply wanted to share their work, & photos...like everything else that starts seemingly innocent on the internet, it has turned to SHIT.
Holding a person's photography stream RANSOM seems like a shitty thing to do if the intent of your site is to supposedly unite artists and photographers on an online platform ...instead this site is more like a marketing scheme focused on delivering 'Inspiration' and/or prefabricated styles & filter presets for bigger , more well known photographers, i..e. extracting the exact way, I
And any other photographer edits their photos via EXIF and then Copying it verbatim and claiming it as their creation. Flickr gives the uploader the option to hide your data to other viewers, but what about the employees(, most of which are photographers & software developers themselves) accessing/stealing and then packaging your process as a ready-made & ready to purchase filter on multiple online platforms?, Last I checked, that is PLAGIARISM/theft, friggin rename Flickr to FraudArtistr...and truthfully promote it as the platform site it was probably originally intended : for plagiarists, fraud-artists, and people who are ok with riding on the coat tails of someone else's creativity.
This doesnt make me want to purchase a Pro Account, it makes me wonder how many other people are pissed after they uploaded to Flickr when there was 1 terbyte of free memory, only to have those photos then withheld with the threat of deletion (permanently) if you dont buy a pro membership...#IDontTurnABlindEye #FlickrYouSuckBalls 🙆♀️ Yes, I ALWAYS feel better after a rant.
