The Pooch Plunge, Adopt-a-thon, & Food Drive at Haynes Park, Rio Rancho, New Mexico, was held on Saturday, September 7, 2019, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
The City of Rio Rancho Parks and Recreation and Pet Food Gone Wild came together to mark the final days of summer. Dog(s) came out to Haynes Pool for one last swim before the pool close for the season. There were various animal rescue groups and shelters trying to find lovable pets good homes. There were food vendors, and lots of other things to see and do. To help shelters, there was a pet food drive. Donations included pet food, cat litter, gently used blankets, towels, newspapers, paper towels, and clean toys. Pets without current vaccination papers and tags were not admitted. All dogs were handled by an owner 16 and older if not in the pool area.
