Odd Feeding Behavior

I kept hearing splooshing noises near this pond and looked down to see some ripples followed by big splashes. The fins of several fish were visible, and then a lot more of the fish became visible. They were shimmying almost completely out of the water to feed on something on/in the rocks. I had never seen this behavior before.
