Fear-mongering

Brief summary in english: The Danish language is threatened...

 

If you for any reason (and there might be many - and many good ones) think that there's a point in spending resources on developing and using the Danish language, then sure - think about how polices are applied throughout society.

 

But I'm getting more and more tired of the "you need to be afraid"-framing. At the same time you do a lot of talking on global issues, international competition etc., you shift focus towards Danish, cut down on education on immigrants' first languages etc. Relax, see what happens.

 

Enf of the day it's about communication and precision. I'm not so sure I'm worried about the choice of language as long as everyone has language skills they feel are adequate for conveying their message. But of course, if you can't hit immigrants over the head with their lack of Danish skills, hell breaks lose...

 

Disucss, think, choose wisely - go for confidence and precise skills. But don't let fear and tradition take over the discussion.
