That's All, Folks!

Certainly a historical shot, other than anything else.

 

I was towing a large caravan on a narrow road, but had to have a go at a record shot.

 

Flickerite Sam Tait did a better job, from a similar spot at around the same time.

After having stayed at a farm high up above The Trent Valley for four nights, aware of the end of Ratcliffe's generating life, all I could spot for four days were the wisps of steam above the cooling towers.

 

Come Saturday Morning, 28th September 2024,, still air, high pressure in, the 55 year old plant performed some kind of swansong. One set running out of four.

 

Spot the figure on the far left, detectorist, hunting for historical relics, There's a large one on the horizon...

 

I wonder what the conversations were between grid control and The Plant?

 

Heading to Newark, I detoured via the A453 (to the east of the plant), and also managed to catch this quick "grab shot", blocking No Man's Lane at Risley.

 

Well done, good and faithful (generating) servant.
