MESA 2019

Local middle and high school students competed in the Arduino STEM Solutions National Engineering Design Challenge at the regional MESA Day competition held at Columbia Basin College in Pasco, WA. The top teams will advance to the state competition and, potentially, nationals.

Yakima Valley/Tri-Cities MESA (Mathematics, Engineering & Science Achievement) Center at PNNL is part of a nationally recognized program that provides opportunities and inspires innovation to undeserved and underrepresented students in STEM, helping to prepare and train the next generation of STEM students and professionals.

The competition is composed of students designing a prototype solution for a human need, while incorporating Arduino programming. Students will compete in four core areas: Pitch (Shark Tank style), Technical Interview/Presentation, Poster and Technical Paper.
