48 St. and 32 Ave. NW

A residential street in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

I lived at the corner of 48 St. and 32 Ave. NW in Calgary, AB. Calgary uses an intelligent grid system, so that one can "easily" find any address, just from the street name and house number. Unfortunately, stubborn geography often got in the way. At this intersection 48 St. magically turned into 50 St. when you crossed 32 Ave. So people driving West on 32 Ave. would not be able to find the house, since the house numbers would jump over the whole block that contained my house. It was hell to order a pizza or call a cab. I always needed to wait at the window for them to call me after they couldn't find my place. Good times.

Check out an album containing more of my photos shot in 2002.
