Swimming to Shanghai
The Jin Mao tower includes a spectacular Grand Hyatt hotel from floors 53 to 87. Swimming in the pool, with views over Shanghai, is an ever so slightly disquieting experience. A view of Shanghai I took from the hotel is being used in rotation on the flickr homepage.
New York Times writer Howard French has a set of photographs, Disappearing Shanghai, that are completely the opposite of the post-modern Jin Mao. There are other flickrite views of the Jin Mao and the Shanghai skyscape including an HDR image by poalamazout , Lo M's inbound image, and a interior view of room 6422 by hotel addict JW Yeung
There is, of course, the inevitable and helpful wikipedia article.
The architect of the Jin Mao tower is SOM (Skidmore, Owings & Merryll, USA)
The Grand Hyatt's interior design is by Jean Phillipe-Heitz.
