Masako Ando

Her first exhibition outside of Japan at London's White Cube gallery, Ando's paintings of girl-children suggest a corrupted innocence. Note the abdominal bump and, what you cannot see here very well, hairy fingers. There's also the suggestion of the Virgin Mary with the hand gestures.
