A Gift of Little Consequence - Post, Processed (3)

Fence post.

 

I originally made this, as a gift of little consequence, for a friend who was struggling a bit with the ups and downs of life.

 

One of the defining features we have as human beings is the ability we have to comprehend and appreciate beauty. And I find, if I only look, nature has installed beauty all around for me to enjoy.

 

Images like this, reminiscent of mandalas, always remind me of the beauty flowers with their regular symmetry, bright colours, intricate detail. I also find them strangely peaceful to contemplate…

 

I was hoping, then, that my friend would enjoy something that was calming, absorbing, and perhaps a little uplifting.

 

So a gift of little consequence, but hopefully one of some significance :)
