Bird - Scarlet ibis - The Chaffee Zoo

The scarlet ibis is a sociable and gregarious bird, its remarkably brilliant scarlet coloration makes it unmistakable. The scarlet ibis is the national bird of Trinidad. The species has protected status throughout the world.

 

Fresno Chaffee Zoo has a variety of animals, including my favorite a giraffe feeding station, Stingray Bay, a Sea Lion Cove and Bird Show.

 

It is a smaller zoo on only 18 acres, but we loved our visit! And are definitely going back. It is a mature zoo so the grounds are well covered wish lush tress and plenty of shade. The grounds are predominantly flat easy to walk and navigate a wheel chair or stroller.

 

Lots of the exhibits allowed you to get close to the animals without gates and fences.

 

Admission was only $7.00!

 

If you in the area or passing though, we really enjoyed a slow pace stroll through the Fresno Chaffee Zoo. Cheaper than a movie! and I'm still smiling (:
