What a great amble round MVCP with Beds Birds Club yesterday. Thank you Kathy Blackmore and our native guides Bob Hook and Paul Wright.

It was a beautiful morning weather-wise and our good sized group heard and often actually saw some very interesting birds. Turtle Doves were my highlight but the final list will be a good one.

Our next Field Trip is on Saturday this week when we will be going to Marston Vale Forest Centre and our walk will take us into the Wetland Reserve it’s a lovely place to visit with woodland, reedbeds and lakes. Our leaders for the morning are Bob Hook and Neil Wright who know the reserve well and we are very hopeful of some good birds.

We are going to meet in the car park at 8.00 which is before the Centre opens, so we will have to go into the Centre at the end of the walk to pay our entrance fee which is £2.50 or £1.75 for concessions. Don’t forget to register your car at the machine and pay for parking allowing enough time for our walk and coffee afterwards in the Centre. Details for parking below.

Later in the month we have our midsummer evening walk at Sandy Smith on 25th June which is a joint event with BNHS.
