Hi gang, Lovely to spend the morning with you in the stinking mud today and so pleased that Duck End Dave seemed so delighted with the task. It turned out to be rather dangerous in the end with Steve having to leave early as he felt so unwell. I hope we didn’t catch whatever it is and that you recover very soon Steve. Then there was Wendy who lost an eye (well, nearly) and poor Colin who lost his sole and it wasn’t even a soulless task!!! Thanks for letting me undress you Colin and glad to know that you use an upmarket talcum powder. We are missing Malcolm aren’t we?
I apologise for leaving my decent coat in JB’s car and hope he takes it home so that I can retrieve it on Thursday. And I apologise even more for being so scathing about Team B (who turned out to be ex Team A members) for not doing a “proper job” of getting that reed mace out of the boardwalk pond. I think we need a digger on the job and I’m sure we would get lots of volunteers to drive it.
Not sure if I will make next week – whether we are at Pussy Pond or somewhere else – but I plan to attend on 13th October as long as Tim finds us a nice site. I shall be returning from Cyprus, bronzed and rested, and you are all quite right “what a stupid time to take a holiday when I should be packing”, but it is long planned.
Still not exchanged but I have looked up Greensand at Heathfield and intend to find another group of dropouts that I can annoy. Wonder if they will like courgette cake.
