Joaquin Phoenix as he appeared in the film ‘Joker’.
I’ve ummed and ahhed over making this piece. Already done by so many brilliant artists and in so many brilliant interpretations.
I was struck by the film and it got under my skin and I felt after a while of consideration that I should do a sculpture reflecting it.
Phoenix gives a fascinating and pitiful performance with yellowed nicotine stained fingertips and I can see why so many artists are recreating him.
I am not 100% satisfied with how this piece turned out, so there might be more at some point. We shall have to wait and see.
