Peak-a-boo
Peak-a-boo. This was a fun shoot, but the idea I had in my minds eye was a lot better than the reality, lol. Basically it was fun, but not as super as I hoped. The large rock structures in the background represent huge sandstone towers, the largest about 900 ft, 270 m tall. There are a series of towers and a trail leading to them. Anyway, along the way I noticed a rock wall containing a small arch or window. If you climbed up on a bolder you could center one of the towers within the window. In the daytime this seemed like a good idea, 😂, but in reality the tower looked so small that it didn’t have the impact I thought it would. Sigh… Anyway it was fun sitting up on the bolder and trying this out. Low Level Lightning is used on the close rock and window. The window was elevated above my head so I tied a lantern to a string and threw it through the opening. Full disclosure: No lanterns were harmed during the acquisition of this image. I did the shoot with and without LLL and the LLL images seemed better. Stacked Blend: Foreground , 24 mm f/2.8, 30 seconds, ISO 6400. Sky, 24 mm, f/2.8, 10 seconds, ISO 6400.
