Sonoran Desert 1
Sonoran Desert: Well, during the lockdown I’ve had a chance to shoot in the Sonoran Desert in central Arizona. It’s a fascinating place full of innumerable cacti, many of which are blooming at this time of year. It is terrifically beautiful at this time of year, but sadly, many of the flowers seem to retract or fold up at night (and I still take all the photos during the darkest part of the night). Anyway, this is a new experience for me, instead of scrambling over rocks, I am dodging thorns, lol. These are Not plants that like to be touched, lol. The monarch of the desert is the large saguaro cactus, several of which are shown here, growing up to 40 feet, 13 m, tall. The light pollution is from Phoenix. Made from 4 stacked light frames in Starry Landscape Stacker. Sony a7Rm4 camera, 14 mm, 20 sec, ISO 6400, f/2.8. Low Level Lightning (lowlevellighting.info) performed with a single Cineroid light panel.
