Monsoon's Bounty - Pregnant Earth
experts say that the future of Indian population depends upon Ganga & Brahmaputra valley. These two rivers have created worlds most fertile plains ; if you move through Brahmaputra valley at this time of the year , you will find Rice Paddy in various stages of growth; as far as you can see there is shades of green. I don't know how many variety of Rice is cultivated in this amazing land of hundred culture called Assam (Ahom); fragrant rice (long grain, small grain) , plain rice, red rice ...... even a variety which particularly needed for making Apong ( rice beer).
A hungry nation has no use of consumer durables; so for food security of India Ganga -Brahmaputra valley need to be protected. The farmers of eastern India are the most neglected lot , Salaried class dominated society; when a kid doesn’t mind his studies people say "What will you do in future ! Will you be a farmer !" "Don't talk like a farmer!" But I won't mind if you call me "Chasharey Sudip ( farmer sudip) " you see my grandfather was a Farmer and a Doctor too.
Anyway the issue is Monsoon ( I got a habit of jumping from one issue to other) , this is the time of creativity, this is the time when nature creates ; monsoon makes mother earth pregnant and as a voyeur I enjoy that process .
