Stocks and Pillory

These ancient devices for punishement are still in evidence in the town square, but are apparently only used on wayward tourists. The stocks, on the right, immobilize a persons feet and hands. The pillory on the left locks head and hands in place. Each exposes the miscreant to further abuse and insult by the free populace.
