Volcanic Triangles

Saturday we took a road trip up Highway 395 through the Owens Valley. The exiting storm covered the hills with clouds a fresh snow (and lots of wind). One of the stops was Fossil Falls, 4 miles south of Coso Junction. One of the landmarks is the large cinder cone known as Red Hill. This is the East side of Red Hill facing West. The snowy foothills of the Sierra are in back, obscured by clouds. The light color near the bottom is a small dry lake bed. 4-14-12 5 shot hand-held HDR
