What can I say, I love beer especially German draft beer! I also like visiting bier gardens!
I shot this on a summer visit to, The Standard Bier Garden, down in the Meat Packing District on Washington and 14th St. This place is awesome, its an outdoor bier garden located under the Highline that serves up three different German draft beers. The dark brew pictured above was my favorite of the three.
Before you enter you pay $8 per ticket, no cover charge. You exchange your ticket or tickets at the bar for a tall cold glass of beer, you can combine two tickets to have the enjoyment of sipping out of a hefty sized beer mug! You also have the option of buying bottled beers and your favorite hard liquor. If your up to it you can join in on some good ol beer pong! There are about five ping-pong tables that you can challenge others for free or maybe for a friendly wager. I've witnessed some hilarious things going on during games.
