Where do I begin to tell the story?? As you may already know Eli Mannning & the New York Giants are SuperBowl 46 Champions!!
The past few days seem to blend into one another since Sunday's win. Sunday was another day I spent catching heart attacks while watching football with my buddies. Since Sunday I've barely slept between celebrating, working, going to the parade in NY, & processing pics, its been an adrenaline rush to say the least. The win is just starting to sink in....
It was an unbelieveable season highly reminscent to the Giants of 2007! The Giants were the underdogs once again but in the face of doubt they shut the "Brady Bunch" down for the second time in the SuperBowl answering that famous season question, "Is Eli Manning an elite qaurterback?" No need to debate any further because Eli proved to the football world that he was clutch in several 4th qaurter come-backs during the 6 game winning streak that lead to an incredible SuperBowl win.
I love the story of the underdog, it holds so much meaning to me. It's an inspiration to rise up in the face of hate and doubt to reach the very top of the world proving that you are a champion. To me, its the real American dream/story.....Take a rookie named Victor Cruz from the Giants and you will see exactly why I'm inspired. Cruz is from my hometown of Paterson, NJ, he took a detour from the streets of Paterson, went to college and was spotted by NYG scouts at a training camp. In his first year on the team he became one of Eli's go-to guys, and a real problem for rival teams defense. His hard teamwork carried him into the superbowl as a rookie. He was the first to score a touchdown in SuperBowl 46! Just a regular guy from Paterson has become a sensation over night, that as a Patersonian is truly inspirational!!
Me & my bro took the train out to the parade on Tuesday to join the 1million wild Giants fans
in the streets of Lower Manhattan. Before we left the house we were watching the news as they interviewed fans, we actually seen the barber and the guy pictured above on t.v. We ended up running into them as we walked up the barricaded sidewalks of Church St.
We walked for blocks until we made it to the entrance of the parade. Once we made it through the entrance we walked several blocks south to City Hall where we found a couple of feet of standing space on a small incline which gave us a bit of a better view. It was so hard to capture good shots while rasing my camera above my head to capture a shot of the team, I was doing a pray and shoot! Overall it was an awesome experience to be with that many Giants fans which created a sea of blue in the streets of Lower Manhattan. I would do it all over again, but next time I'll leave a bit earlier to get a better viewing spot.
