Common Loon (slightly cropped)

There were plenty of Loons on lake Kashagawigamog this year. I saw a group of 4 Adults, 2 Juvenile and then later a group of 7 Loons across the lake. These pictures were taken in a Kayak and the old camera.

 

A hungry loon family can put away a lot of fish. Biologists estimate that loon parents and their 2 chicks can eat about a half-ton of fish over a 15-week period.
