Danesfield House, 16th August 2025. The current house dates from 1901 and replaced a much earlier building dating from circa 1670. In 1939 with the imminent start of World War II Colet Court School was evacuated from Hammersmith to Danesfield with an influx of approximately 80 boys. As the war proceeded in 1941 Danesfield was requisitioned by the War Department for the intelligence Section of the Royal Air Force (Reconnaissance and Photography Section). The property remained in the hands of the Royal Air Force until 1977 when it was sold to Carnation Foods to be used as their Corporate Headquarters. On the 1st July 1991 Danesfield House opened as a luxury country house hotel
