Doña Aurora ( Mussaenda Philippica , Doña Luz variety )
I planted this is 2011 . In 2012 trip , I've seen it flowering but not much. In 2013 visit ( when I took this shot ), it's was covered with beautiful blooms. This is one of my favorites as this survived well near the sea.
In 2014 on my latest visit, ha loose cow from the neighbor got in and ate most of it. I just can't believe it , has timed it well for me.
Doña Aurora is a 3 - 5 feet shrub or small tree . I have seen a variety which grew taller like over 10 feet and covered with flowers, one of the reasons why I like this shrub, it's very easy to grow , doesn't take much time to maintain. It also has medicinal properties.
I thought having the Doña Aurora of this colour on a garden pergola would be nice, mixed with Bogainvillea climber " Mr and Mrs" variety.
