Beating the Odds
"The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much"
James 5:16
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."
Matthew 7:7
I would love to share this simple experience here on flickr , mainly to give
back the glory to God.
Here's a bit more detailed story of our Sand bar experience :
It was an impromptu booking we did for the Manjuyod Sand bar . We didn't consider it that week as there were other major plans in front. But as we explored the Campuyo area one afternoon
I realized the tide was extremely low and extended many miles to the sand bar . Of course,
it's tedious job walking several miles from Campuyo to the Sand bar unless we want to go on adventure fishing all through the night or pick some mussles and other types of shell fish late . I might like to to do this type of adventure, but i don't think that comes exciting for my children who are very fuzzy .
I was strongly convinced we should visit the sandbar the next day as it's perfect low tide in the afternoon.
If we leave it at later time , low tide would occur during night time.
The perfect time to visit the sandbar should be the next day.
The weather forecast wasn't that brilliant. We had rain in Negros but not bad as suffered in Luzon where some areas were bashed by typhoon that week, and many parts of Manila were under water. Large number of people were displaced due to bad flooding. Days were cloudy with scattered rain and drizzle in Negros accompanied with strong winds during the first two weeks we had .
My intentions was to see and have a bit more time at the Sandbar during extreme low tide in the afternoon where we can run around the stretch of the sand exposed.
I remember out time at the sandbar 2007. As the tide gone low exposing the stretch of sand, it was time to leave.
Although the weather forecast that week was very disappointing,
I prayed for a great sunny day without rain.
Living by faith I suppose .
The booking office had warned us of rain and stronger winds the next day.
But we carried on our booking in the last minute decision, just within the last hour before
the tourism booking office closed ). I was so glad there was one extra stilt hut vacant
for us the next day.The tourism office told us there's another group mainly Koreans who will be at the Sandbar that same day with us.
.
I don't believe in mere coincidences.
That day came, it was absolutely dry, with glorious sunshine all day. There was wind but not raging ,it was comforting like a massive electric for us during the hot humid day.
Another surprise was, we were given the best condition Stilt hut, newly rennovated and huge for eight (8) of us .It had better design which comes with more space for the kids to run around.
While strangely, the Korean tourists, so many of them, must be 30 of them, were given the smaller cottage. It must be too cramped for the 30 people. The stilt hut the Koreans occupied could have been suitable as there were only 8 of us.
I thought there must be a mistake that happened, it made me wonder. But whatever it was, I do Praise God for everything that day. Everything was just right ! It was beating all the odds.
You know what - God is so good !!!!
Get close with Him.
Have relationship with the Lord like He is your best friend .
Have Jesus Christ !
