Drying time again
This was taken minutes away from Liloan , on the western side of Cebu .I just like the local ambience here ,so we have to stop for some pictures.The day was good ,more sunshine - I can't complain ,despite the scorching heat plus humidity :))We were heading for Maya which is on the northern tip of Cebu ,it's a long drive ,can be agony.So we decided stop the journey , have overnight stay at nearby Kawasan falls ,it has already resorts nearby the waterfalls . Just then we realized the area was closed to public due to undergoing renovations . In the end we had no choice but to spend the night at Panagsama Beach in Moalboal . I can't believe my eyes how ugly Panagsama has become of today .Having years at hand to change for the better .I've coem across ( not long ago) in an expat forum flaunting Panagsama beach / Moalboal as expat retirement haven ? I thought such place must have done well. When I saw it ,eyes -wide -open in broad daylight ,It was a shocker ! It was comepletely opposite to what I was expecting .It seemed to have gone from bad to worse :/ By the way Panagsama Beach is approx 2 hours drive from this village I took this photo .
How can anyone say it's a better place to live ,when they have severe water problems . If a place can't provide part of the basic needs as water ,then such place is almost a failure ,facing big problems of existence .Yet somebody must be disillusioned promoting Moalboal /Panagsama as retirement place ? Would you like to fetch water 4 kilometers from the source when you are 80 ? I saw resorts fetching barrels of water ,this is happening on daily basis ,a chronic problem of the area .
