Swimming in Bantayan

Putting aside our memorable cruise on the Egg Express :)) , Bantayan Island is best to be remembered of its peaceful , idyllic location . It is like Boracay Island in the late 80's ,with villagers pursuing their own life of fishing, farming and normal village life is visibly existent around the island .The atmosphere isn't geared up for mass tourism or chasing tourists around. It's not for everyones liking ,but it suits me and others who find its secret allure . Bantayan isn't a party place . Sorry to bash Boracay ,I'd been to this island 5 times and have seen enough of it that it's growing far to my liking . The Philippines has over 7000 islands to choose from ,Boracay just get so much of the hype . Overdevelopment destroyed the island/ plus pollution due to lack of appropriate planning by local authorities ,it's greeneries destroyed . For people who loved Boracay ,it's sad and hard coming to terms , seeing the reality the island has become .I hope people of Bantayan are cautious enough and be mindful of protecting their island from the onslaught of overdevelopment and exploitation , the demise it would certainly bring to their most valued treasure and resource left - their island ,their home .

In this photo is my eldest daughter enjoying the swim at Bantayan .I'm always behind the camera .:)
