" A fool always loses his temper. But a wise man holds it back. " ~ Proverbs 29:11
A hurriedly made porch 8 X 12 feet with no roof by preference.
A more open space , looking over to the sea and being able to see
the tree canopies above if lying down or on a reclined chair .
The thick tree canopies will give shade during the day from the sun.
Having used bamboo and wood for the this porch , except for
the concrete supporting pillars from the ground , are not practically
the best building materials to use as they will rot quickly being exposed to
external elements all year round. I've foreseen this porch has to be
redone in 3- 4 yrs time and still thinking what the best to do after.
I have doubts of the idea of concrete flooring and tiling due
the earthquake factor which always play in my mind .
A year ago , there was major shaking
affecting nearby towns which shattered some buildings,
houses and bridges , cracked roads , seawalls etc . there were several
fatalities. This even made headline on national news.
This is a nice peaceful area on the surface , truth is , we are
right located by the Ring of Fire ; the Philippines is , which means
we will get earthquakes. A pretty volcanic archipelago.
The fact is this town is in between
two dormant volcanos due north approx. 250 plus kilometre away,
then towards the t south of the island which is about 80 kilometre away .
Should 7 to 8 or more Richter scale earthquake strikes again , any concrete
porch floor will be in real trouble . At the moment I have to consider
what's for the best , safer and cost effective, in case of any damage,
it will be minimal.
Big eathquakes and Tsunamis ties together unfortunately. This area is
facing a major island and surrounded by other islands towards the east
which would serve as buffer islands should there come direct lashing
of any tsunami generated swells from the big ocean of the Pacific
and Philippine sea or coming from behind , the South China sea/ Sulu Sea.
This area of the island wouldn't be scathe free , should a major Tsunami
coming from the Pacific or Philippines sea to hit Samar or Leyte ,
there's no doubt we will get the surges. However, we are every close
to higher hills and mountains of easy reach to climb up to for safety.
The carpenters had done this for three days serious work by request as
what was built was like a joke and truly stupid design ignoring completely
our preference. It's a big hard lesson for me. I have asked the Lord
to restore me a forgiving heart, as I knew when I am left alone to count all the
errors and the cost involve, I could have lashed
out nastily like a rabid dog lol . But Praise God, I was in much of control over
my temper. Though God forgive me, I still remember it to this day with
such a disappointment when it all plays back in memory. It grinds
on me sometimes . Knowing I'm still human, only that I'm forgiven.
It's my prayer I will come out of it with a completely clear heart from
all the mess and only by the GRACE of God
In counting the sums , it cost me more than triple from what was on my
original budget .The carpenters were not the best in the area but they were
the ones available and free during the 4 weeks time frame I was there.
The works to be done were very simple and very basic for a resting place by the beach.
I give them the credit for just doing this porch quickly the best they can do with in the
three days time frame under pressure . They never asked any extra money.
Honestly , I do appreciate people like them. Ok, I gave them a some extra
for doing the job well and making two nicely built wooden beach tables
on request for the barbeque in the afternoon.

By the way I have done a little clean up on my contact list , and deleted people
who are on my list who are dormant .They keep posting and have taken me
off their list of contacts for some reason. There's no reason either way
to let these people stay on my followings . To accumulate many of these kind
in my contacts will just spoil / delay my viewing of others who had been following
my postings.
