Infant Blunt Nosed Viper
No barriers, I was very close!! An infant Blunt Nose Viper has more potent venom than the adults! A single bite can not only cause death within 40 minutes (if you survive the initial shock!) but can also cause a need for amputation!
This Snake was photographed in Kouklia, Iconically where the Temple of Aphrodite is. Which is also kind of Ironic concerning Aphrodite was a false name given to the Cypriots by the Greeks as they were not allowed to use her real name of Astarte which was a Phoenician Deity (which is also quite ironic concerning all Greek Mythology came from the Phoenicians anyway) ... and the Phoenicians used the name Astarte who was infact the The Babylonian/Sumerian Queen Ishtar - The Snake Goddess, the inventor of Snake Dancing (Belly Dancing).
This is the only deadly snake found in Cyprus.
