Notes: Between 1852 and 1854 the Crystal Palace was dismantled and reconstructed at Sydenham in south London where the Exhibition continued to draw crowds from all over the world. Although the London Stereoscopic Company had a nominal monopoly on stereoviews from the Exhibition, this was operated in a fairly lax fashion enabling some of the great photographers of the day to make views. Philip de la Motte, William Henry Fox Talbot, and T.R. Williams among others plied their trade among the exhibits. Most, if not all, existing stereoviews of exhibits at the Crystal Palace were taken after the move to Sydenham.

The views of Thomas Richard Williams are the first taken in the Crystal Palace that can be attributed definitely to a specific photographer. There are 45 in the full set which can be viewed on the London Stereoscopic Co website by clicking HERE where they are dated at 1854 - the year of the completion of the reconstruction at Sydenham (albeit without the water towers which were not completed until 1856). They were certainly being sold by LSC is 1855 and under their imprint in 1856.
