Abandoned heritage home, Richmond Hill Cottage in St. John's, Newfoundland. Built in 1848 it has been empty for years and is slated for demolition in the near future. Like many heritage properties, its main downfall was the fact that it sat on a large piece of land in the middle of the city. The land was divided up with new homes built on it. Richmond Cottage was then left to deteriorate by the developers. It's been for sale but the neglect and damage was too severe to attract any buyers. A sad end to another heritage property in the city. I grew up in this neighborhood and this house was always occupied and quite beautiful at the time.
