What Else It Is_0516
The photographer Minor White said, “One should not only photograph things for what they are but for what else they are.”
On the most literal level this photograph shows part of an old, hollow, burned and battered tree trunk. But on another level it is a semi-abstract depiction of textures, patterns, colours, and the play of light that invites viewers to give rein to their imaginations and ponder their emotional responses to what they see in the image.
