Peace of the Bonsai

09-0811-6310 [original jpeg, sooc]

In bonsai, Nature is bent to our will. That is tension; how is it peace? Peace has never been a state of zero tension, which is death.

If we do not bend our selfish natures to our own informed will -- conscience -- there can be no such thing as peace.

It seems ironic, paradoxical, that one must impose limits to achieve the zenith in imagination, creativity, productivity. With too few limits or none at all there can be no focus, only a confused mess. But if you bend anything too far, it will break.

Balance.

Humility. Individuality. Creativity. Artistry.

Life.
