Autumn Serenity

An ideal autumn day with Mt. Woodring and Mt. Moran rising above a portion of the Snake River's Oxbow Bend.

Of all the major western rivers the Snake river is the one I know best, from it's head to it's tail. I was blessed to live along it's banks and loved hiking, hunting and exploring the deepest gorge in North America, the Hell's Canyon. It is 7,993 feet in depth and over 10 miles wide, compared to the Grand Canyon which is 6,093 deep and 18 miles wide.

"The Snake River rises in western Wyoming, then flows through the Snake River Plain of southern Idaho, the rugged Hells Canyon on the Oregon–Idaho border and the rolling Palouse Hills of Washington, emptying into the Columbia River at the Tri-Cities, Washington." wiki

Have a great week!
