Rainier Reflections and Wildflowers
A clear morning with Mt. Rainier mirrored in Reflection Lake. Some mixed wildflowers added nicely to this beautiful setting and moment. Lots of smiles this morn.
"Mount Rainier National Park was established in 1899, 17 years before the National Park Service was created in 1916. John Muir, famous naturalist and preservationist, and Bailey Willis, a U.S. Geological Survey worker, led the charge to designate Mount Rainier a national park because of its unique beauty.
John Muir called Rainier "the most luxuriant and the most extravagantly beautiful of all the alpine gardens I ever beheld in all my mountain-top wanderings" doi.gov
