Fine Fly Fishing

I used to fish a lot, of all varieties. Fly fishing was a favorite.

I started with photography at 10, but when I purchased my first Nikon digital camera the ability to completely control the image from capture to presentation became my passion. I've since given my fishing gear away. My photography addiction had begun. However, I still love and value the beauty of where the fish reside, like here.

Winding more than 130 miles through a scenic Idaho wilderness from its source high in the Bitterroot Mountains to Lake Coeur d’Alene, the St. Joe River is a Blue Ribbon trout fishery, offering some of the region’s best fly-fishing. Protected by Congress through the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act as well as Idaho Fish and Game regulations, the waters of the St. Joe have been cultivated into one of the West’s finest trout fisheries.

This scenic river beckons to beginners and seasoned fishermen alike to enjoy bountiful catches of cutthroat trout ranging anywhere from 8” to 22”. More than 50 miles of the upper river glide through lush northwestern forest and are managed as catch-and- release water. Only flies and artificial lures with single barbless hooks are allowed.

Have a terrific Tuesday!
