Cracker Jack

Morning glory at Banff's Two Jack Lake with the sun's early rays lighting up Mt. Rundle.

Located on the Minnewanka Loop. Two Jack Lake lies between Johnson Lake and the largest man made lake in the park, Minnewanka, It was named after Jack Stanley, who operated a boat concession on lake Minnewanka at one time, and Jack Watters, who worked for the mines in Bankhead, a town which flourished at the base of Cascade Mountain just after the turn of the century. While their precise relationship is uncertain, the pair must have frequented the shore of the waters which were named after them. In any given season, a drive along the loop past Johnson, Two Jack and Lake Minnewanka is sure to make a lasting impression.

Enjoy a wonderful Sunday evening and week ahead!
