Celebrate the Earth

Today is Earth Day!

A new day begins at Banff's Two Jack Lake with Mt. Rundle in the distance.

We photographers have a special connection, respect and love for our planet. It's beauty moves us to explore it, know it and seek to capture it's wonders for others to enjoy and appreciate. This day we give thanks and recognition of the importance of the health and survival of our only home. We must cherish, protect and preserve this special biosphere. Not for us alone, but for future generations.

I remember well when we celebrated the first Earth Day. The year was 1970, the year I graduated from High School. We spent the afternoon outside to attend educational presentations and celebrations. Was wonderful.

The first Earth Day in 1970 inspired the passage of the Clean Air, Clean Water and Endangered Species Acts.

Thank you for any and all efforts you do to protect and cherish our home.
