Mt. Sanford
A view of this majestic volcano taken from the Tok Cutoff.
Mount Sanford (16,237 ft ,4,949 m) is a shield volcano in the Wrangell Volcanic Field, in eastern Alaska near the Copper River. It is the third highest volcano in the United States behind Mount Bona and Mount Blackburn, also in Alaska.
When I drove S from Tok the peaks were cloud covered so I didn't know what I was missing. Sure glad the sun was out on my return as I would have hated missing seeing this and the other Wrangell range peaks.
Happy Friday!
